Associate Attorney
Reilly Gibbons
When Reilly Gibbons was in high school and was recruited to play football by Division I programs across the country, he shocked coaches by declaring that he intended to attend law school. The big offensive lineman did not fit into the preconceived notion that coaches had for those who get down and dirty in the trenches. Unfortunately, Reilly had to hang up his cleats prematurely after playing for both Stanford and South Florida. However, the end of his football career became the beginning of his career in law as he was admitted to the University of Notre Dame College of Law in 2017 and graduated with his J.D. in 2020. Reilly enjoyed his years at Notre Dame as he received a stellar education, met many lifelong friends and mentors and enjoyed being there to watch his younger brother, Dillan Gibbons, as he played four years of football on the offensive line for the Irish.
Reilly started working for Lynn Gibbons in 2016 while attending U.S.F as a dual political science and philosophy major. He drafted complaints, demands, and Social Security disability memorandum of law. Reilly also clerked for U.S. Congressman Charlie Christ and Trenam Law while in law school at Notre Dame. He began working for Trenam in their civil litigation division in October 2020 after he passed the Florida Bar exam. There, Reilly worked on complex civil litigation matters in various practice areas, including first-party insurance claims, Johnson v. Davis suits, family law matters, copyright and intellectual properties matters, actions for partition between non-spouse co-owners, and real estate disputes. In 2022, he decided to bring his talents to his family business, Gibbons & Gibbons, to help his mother’s clients obtain the best recovery possible after suffering injuries caused by the negligence of others in the course and scope of their employment and those who are disabled or sick and in need of Social Security Disability benefits. He also intends to contribute to the firm by bringing in his own cases in the fields of General Civil Litigation, First Party Insurance Claims with a sub-specialty in boat/ yacht claims, and Johnson v. Davis suits by current homeowners against sellers who negligently represent the conditions of properties at closing.
In his time away from the office, Reilly spends as much time as he can fishing. His new passion is fly fishing. He also loves captaining the Gibbons's vessel, collecting cigars and bourbon, and cheering for and supporting his "little" brother, Dillan, at every Noles football game.
